Guitar Lessons in Oxnard and Ventura

Private and Group Guitar Lessons for All Ages and Levels

Rachel de Carlos
Music is a great stress reliever and a mood lifter. Research shows that children who learn a musical instrument do better in school, especially in math classes. Adults who learn a musical instrument have lower stress levels and exercise areas in their brain that could help ward off the natural effects of aging, such as dementia.

I took guitar in the 7th grade, I played left-handed, but the teacher called it playing "backwards" and gave me a 'D' grade because I refused to play it right handed. I've never played since, though mom yelled at the teacher til she raised my grade to a 'C'. Apparently Miss Meanie never heard of Jimi Hendrix! lol Anyway, nice article!

We could never afford lessons. My son taught himself and formed a band with his friends. They hit the local scene real big while still in school. Good, detailed information!
