Too often people are so far into their perfect little Better Homes and Gardens magazine life, or those with so little to live for that they implant themselves in reality TV shows to the point where they talk about these people like they just had lunch with them the day before, that I think that they actually forget there is a real world out there. A world that is not kind, fair, or even right.
I understand the devastating toll caused by this accident. I understand the frustrations caused by this accident. I understand the loss of not only lives, time, money, marine life, jobs, and I'm sure a half dozen other more important things caused by this accident. But if you can see a trend it, it was simply, like most things in life that go wrong, an accident.
Folks are too busy jumping to the blame game or "BP should be punished", "How dare they LET this happen" or any other of the millions of other misguided remarks made by people who have nothing better to do with their miserable lives than to find something to bitch about and then try to get you to think exactly how they do.
I've read some reports in the news just as you, and yes, this most likely could have been avoided, and yes, some folks should be held accountable for this disaster. That said, it's time to put the grown up hat back on and start looking for solutions rather than who to point the next finger at or to throw the next stone at. BP has done nothing but try to fix this problem since it started and I'm surprised they've been able to get this much done, what with not only trying to solve an issue that nobody has ever faced before while everyone who should be trying to help them create a solution for this problem are too busy finding ways to nail them to the cross. Save the penalties, judgments, and ramifications for after this is taken care of and ALL of the facts are in.
I'm by no means taking sides. There is cause, blame, penalty, and there is retribution just as there are before, during, and after any accident.
