Gulf Oil Spill: Oil Refinery Explosion in Houston
The Oversight Agency in Control of the Gulf Oil Spill Recovery Addresses Other Oil-related Crises in the Region
The Coast Guard's Mary Landry, federal coordinator of the recovery effort for the gulf oil spill, addressed questions from bloggers on how the agency plans to deal with the oil refinery explosion in Houston. Landry announced that personnel have been dispatched, and that the Minerals Management Service, now a lame-duck agency, has ordered inspections of all the other oil rigs (47) also at work in the gulf.
