Gunman Holding Discovery Channel Hostage

Bridget Ilene Delaney
An odd list of demands had been given to people who work at the Discovery Channel. It is filled with demands that the Discovery Channel and all affiliate channels stop broadcasting any shows that promote birth and start airing shows that promote cleaning up the earth, no more weapons, and human sterilization.

The man has been identified as James Jay Lee.

The Discovery Channel building where he has taken at least one person hostage, but there may be more, is located in Silver Spring, MD.

It is confirmed that he had a gun and it is thought that he has an explosive device. It is not certain, but photos and cameras seem to detect a metal device strapped to his chest.

All the children from the daycare at the Silver Spring, MD Discovery Communications building have been safely evacuated.

James Jay Lee's rambling manifesto full off odd demands can be read at http://bassbone.livejournal.com/281586.html?view=599282#t599282 thanks to the livejournal user bassbone.

Lee was arrested earlier this year for littering.

The story is still developing.

I heard about this earlier today, even d-loaded his Manafesto. He's got one or two valid ideas, just way-out extreme in the solutions. Maybe Discovery will make a few changes....?

Would you mind taking the link to my Livejournal off of this post, please? I know my LJ is public, but I'd rather not be inundated with comments. Here's a link to a Huffington Post article with the demands transcribed: http://current.com/1ngin4c
