I bought me an illusion
And I put it on the wall
I let it fill my head with dreams
And I had to have them all
But oh the taste is never so sweet
As what you'd believe it is-
Well I guess it never is
Slash and Axl found the perfect way to look at any new (or old) relationship with these lyrics from "Locomotive." All relationships begin as two people's illusions of each other and these lyrics are a great way to keep it in perspective. They can also be screamed out of your car window while driving down a deserted street after realizing that the taste never IS quite as sweet.
The lyrics for "Get in the Ring" are also excellent for blowing off steam in almost any situation. It can be quite therapeutic to imagine your boss, your ex, your annoying neighbor in that ring with you. Granted the song is sophomoric at best but hey they can't all be number one hits. Sometimes all a song has to do is put that smile back on your face. You can buy these CDs at any of the following links:
