What if you could go clubbing, attend a rock concert, see a comedian and watch a world famous chef cook all in one night? What if you could do that all in one place in less than three hours? Guess what. You can! Guy Fieri's Food Road Show has all those elements and a bit more. If you love his shows on Food Network, you are going to love seeing him in person.
When my boyfriend surprised me with a ticket to see Guy Fieri, I was stunned. Guy is by far my favorite host on Food Network. Of course, my excitement skyrocketing when I found out I would also get to meet Guy before the show. My excitement and anxiety grew as the show slowly approached. Would Guy be as friendly as he appeared on TV?
I won't focus on the meet and greet with Guy Fieri; though I will say he was extremely nice and seemed genuinely impressed by and interesting in his fans. What you see on TV is what you get when meeting Guy Fieri. However, I will give you a complete rundown of the show and what to expect, if you decide to attend the show.
The Food Road show starts with a thirty minute segment presented by mixologist, Hayden Wood, AKA Woody. His twirling liquor bottles and insane cocktails are just the right way to get the party started. But, that's just the beginning of the party. After a short intermission, Guy hits the stage with a powerful opening. T-shirts go flying everywhere, thrown by Guy himself and shot out of t-shirt cannons by his crew. He then launches into several hilarious stories that are sure to make your side ache, while cooking up a delicious shrimp dish.
As the show goes on, classic and modern rock songs rock the arena, thanks to Guy's personal DJ. Before you know it, beach balls are bouncing throughout the crowd and everyone is on their feet singing along. In other words, if you're expecting a laid back cooking show, think again. As stated in the show, "This ain't your momma's cooking show!"
What impressed me most about seeing Guy Fieri was the fact that he stayed after the show to take pictures with the audience and to sign autographs until the last fan got their picture and autograph. As if that weren't enough, the pictures are taken by photographers and posted on Guy's website. This means you're guaranteed an excellent photo and best of all, it's free.
Guy Fieri's Food Road Show was as awesome as any rock concert you could ever hope to attend, but so much more. The funny cooking stories alone were enough to make this show appealing, but Guy does not disappoint and takes things so much further. If you're looking for a great night out, I highly recommend seeing this show.
