If you have children who are interested in learning gymnastics, then Edmond, Oklahome is a great place to learn. Home of the famous Sharon Miller, Edmond boasts more than ten gymnastics centers offering training for the beginner as well as the advanced; the toddler as well as the adult. Whatever your level of expertise, you can find education and enjoyment in gymnastics.

I've listed below the five most popular gymnastic centers in Edmond. If you are interested in learning more, give them a call or drop by to take a tour.

Dynamo Gymnastics
348-0733
757 Enterprise Dr.
Ste. A
Near S. Kelley

Dynamo Gymnastics is a great place for birthday parties, as they have qualified instructors who genuinely love working with kids. They have all kinds of activities as well as a "Styraphoam Pool" where children can measure their endurance. They offer hour-long and half-hour-long lessons Monday through Friday, and birthday parties on the weekends.

Oklahoma Gold Gymnastics
341-1175
707 Centennial Blvd
Between Railroad and Linda

This is an extremely diverse center, as it offers cheerleading, dance, and martial arts in addition to gymnastics. Lessons range from $58 (one hour per week) to $148 (four hours per week) and birthday parties are $165 for ten or fewer children. Most children who attend classes or parties are between 2 and 12 years of age, which is their target student. They have a small competition team, but most students attend for fun.

Flips For Kids
359-7453
403 Wimbledon Rd.

Flips for kids is targeted at children ages 2-6, and is meant as a stepping stone for students who might want to continue the sport. Basic classes in tumbling, beam, trampoline, and horse are included in hour-or half hour-long classes. It is a casual, social environment much like an older version of Gymboree.

Cheers & More
341-2390
507 S. Coultrane Rd.
Ste. R

If your daughter or son is interested in pursuing cheerleading, then nationally renowned Cheers & More is a great place to start. Kids can decide whether or not they like the sport, and learn basic skills as a foundation for later training. Cheers & more offers cheerleading, dance, and tumbling instruction.

Mat Trotters' Gymnastic Center
722-0808
7009 NW 63rd St.

This is a more serious school of gymnastics, with a talented competition team and a packed schedule of lessons and classes. Mat Trotters provides training for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students, as well as toddler classes for the little ones. If you are interested in starting lessons, visit their website to print a coupon for a free class, and don't forget to stop in and take a tour. Birthday parties are also available, and the competition team is formed by invitation and evaluation only.

  • Mommy & Me Class....10/16/2008

We did Oklahoma Gold for a session and i was not too thrilled with it. We were in a Mommy & Me class and there were 8 of us. It was way too big of a class for the price we were paying. We had to wait to use the trampoline area and it's a 15 minute rountine with 3 trampolines and 8 kids...my kid never got a turn! So that was 15 minutes of the hour (and it's about $25 a hour). One of the staff member was always so negative, she always came in complaining....she never acted excited to be at work and she acted out infront of the other parents and kids. It has a neat idea, and the activities are neat...but the one staff member ruined our experience. And the classes should have been about half the size that they were.

Oklahoma GOld Gymnastics just recently bought out Dynamo Gymnastics in Edmond. The Girls Team has expanded tremendously and is becoming a great program. Located at the old Dynamo just a few blocks away from Oklahoma Gold Gymnastics Recreational Gym. The boys programs are great too. Great coaches that the Owner coached when they were younger. Many of them have known the Owner since they were at a very young age. They were tought from the best. I recomend checking out these programs!
