You may not think that cooking your own food when you go out to dinner is something that you want to do. Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ in Streeterville aims to change your mind.

Gyu-Kaku has over 700 restaurants around the world. Its locations in New York, California and Hawaii have been drawing crowds for several years, and now we get to experience this unique dining adventure here in Chicago. In late November, Gyu-Kaku opened its doors in Streeterville at 210 E. Ohio Street.

Dining at Gyu-Kaku is sure to be a real experience. The servers bring the entrees uncooked and you cook your food on small tabletop grills. The meats are sliced into bit-sized pieces so they only take a minute or two to cook. The meats come pre-marinaded and they are served with a choice of a half dozen dipping sauces. Appetizers, soups and sides come fully cooked and ready to eat.

Based on the buzz surrounding this restaurant, and the popularity of the locations in other cities, we can expect Gyu-Kaku to make a lasting impression on the downtown dining scene.
