If you are interested in getting a shot to prevent H1N1 (the swine flu) the health department will be branching out to reach more people in the area. The health department will also be in Mesquite and Laughlin. For more information please click here . Children, older people and pregnant women should be getting the shots.

Three clinics will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the following Las Vegas-area schools:

  • Del Sol High School
  • 3100 E. Patrick Lane
  • Las Vegas, NV 89120
  • To get to Del Sol from Henderson take Green Valley Parkway heading North it will turn into Patrick as the road turns West. From the Airport area take Eastern to Patrick and head East. Del Sol is just West of Pecos. Just behind the Home Depot on Pecos.

  • Mojave High School
  • 5302 Goldfield Street
  • North Las Vegas, NV 89031
  • To get to Mojave take from Craig Road to 5th Street heading North just past Washburn is Mojave High. From the 215 exit at the new 5th Street exit and head South if you get to Washburn.

  • Sierra Vista High School
  • 8100 W. Robindale Road
  • Las Vegas, NV 89113

Sierra Vista can accessed via Rainbow just South of the 215 and West of Rainbow. The best prevention for the H1N1 is still the same, wash your hands often and cover cough into you shoulder to prevent the spread of germs. Also if you are sick stay home. The strain of flu tied to H1N1 has not proven to be as formidable as the good old fashioned flu.
