Recall is for 800,000 doses of H1N1 Swine Flu vaccinations targeted for children 6 months to 3 years.
The recall is for 800,000 H1N1 Swine Flu pre-filled syringes for children ages 6 months to 3 years. The H1N1 Swine Flu shots were distributed across the country last month. Sanfoli Pasteur is in charge of the shots and most have already been used, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Now what do you do if you have vaccinated your child recently with the H1N1 Swine Flu vaccination? Health officials "don't think" children need to get vaccinated again, even if they got two doses from the same lots, according to the Center for Disease Control.
The issue remains the H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine strength. Tests done before the shots were shipped showed the vaccines were strong enough. Then tests done weeks later showed the potency had tailed off. Why the potency dropped is still not known. An investigation is underway and the hope is the problem is solved.
The recall is voluntary by manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of France-based Sanofi-Aventis Group. The company reported the potency findings to the Center for Disease Control.
The fact is that Sanfoli Pasteur apparently rushed the vaccines to the United States. The French based company may have had good intentions. The fact remains, Sanfoli Pasteur profited from the distribution of the vaccines. Now the question will be, what will Sanfoli Pasteur do now to correct the mistake? The answer. Most likely nothing.
The pharmaceutical industry has long had a stranglehold on the United States. The problem won't be resolved until action is taken against giants such as Sanfoli Pasteur. They need to pay for the mistake they made. The laws are in place to protect the pharmaceutical companies from any repercussions. Until the laws are changed and reform is dealt with, the American public will never be able to trust any vaccination or medication.
