Habits You Should Avoid

Keith Dailey
Well, one can't really stay away from all bad habits, there are just too many of them. But if you have less number of habits to tackle with, would that not be a winning deal?

Certain bad habits must and should be avoided at all costs. Consuming tobacco is one such habit. The nicotine or tar from the cigarettes does more harm than good to your body. So if you can firmly put your foot down when told to take the first puff, you will probably never have to fight giving it up. It may cause some social discomfort amongst peers, but in the long run it would be worth the effort.

Other habits, though not really bad in the basic sense, when overdone can cause lot of problems. Food is one such thing. Most of us realize that overeating can make us gain weight, but we argue that we cannot stop eating for this purpose. Of course skipping meals is definitely not the solution and can lead to more health problems. Instead find ways not to stay away from food, but to make utmost use of the food you eat. Think of food as a special treat, which you would obviously take only at certain times. Eat in such a way that you take in only the best part leaving out the rest. Innovate more such idea that can help you overcome food cravings. Skipping on exercise regimen can also lead to weight gain. Most of us do start off exercising with the right earnest, but fall into the habit of avoiding it for one or the other reason. The most common excuse is lack of energy, without quite realizing that energy level increases as we continue exercising.

Personal hygiene is of utmost importance and bad habits in this area should be dealt with seriously. To avoid smelling bad in public, shower without fail every morning. Brush your teeth and comb your hair before stepping out of the four walls. If you are starting off on your own, making a list would be a good idea. Well you are past those years when somebody else made sure you were clean and decent.

Maintaining cordial relationships is not an easy task. Add to these a few bad habits and it could be a disaster waiting to happen. Planning to marry and settle down. It would benefit both of you to discuss the possible trouble areas in advance, either through a counselor or directly. It could also help you develop a more fruitful relationship keep bad habits like jealousy and neglect at bay.

Most bad habits are avoidable with a little extra effort and considering the needs of self and others equally. Thinking of self at all times makes one selfish and difficult to put up with. Think about others first every time and people will treat you like a doormat. Sounds confusing! It actually isn't. the basic mantra is not to overdo anything.

Not all bad habits need to be necessarily avoided. After all nothing is perfect in this world. What's more! Most habits start before you realize you are struck to it. If the habits aren't really detrimental to you or anybody, let some of them just pass up.
