Hackers: Dangerous or Misunderstood?

Brad F.
Is hacking a deceptive way to gain access into someones personal information or to bring down a business? No, I don't think so!

There are more "Hackers" out there interested in preserving the right to free knowledge and the right to not have critical information hidden from the general population than there are those who would be called a "Malicious Hacker". The people who create virus' for their own personal amusement or personal gain are the most dangerous, but these types of people lack one fundamental element of a real "Hacker" which is that a real "Hacker" wants to share info with EVERYONE and help improve the free exchange of ideas and knowledge and not to harm anyone in the process.

There are many types of "Hackers". Some do it for personal gain or for amusement as I stated above, some just gather info for themselves and don't make much of a presence. Then there are the ones who crack software so that people can download that $1500.00 program for free (My Fav PEOPLE).

The ones who open up products so that everyone can use them are the BEST type of "Hackers". Most companies put out a trial version of their software so that the consumer can evaluate their proggie and sometimes that is fine if they provide FULL FUNCTIONALITY for a certain time frame, but then there are those companies that use the crappy, you can try our stuff but you can't save it or do more than %25 of what the program is actually capable of doing... And this is very stupid.

The idea behind the "Hackers" opening up software so that anyone can use it without paying $100's or even $1000's of dollars for something that may be useful or that may be total crap. Every NFO file that I've ever seen ALWAYS has the line: "If you like this product BUY IT!". Which in my mind means that they are promoting the purchase of the products after you have properly FULLY tested the product/program in question.

I respect these types of "Hackers", because they have provided me with many "Trial" versions of many types of programs over the many years. Let me know what you think!
