I was all excited to see the fireworks display and cheer for the freedom on 4th July. However, as we read and see the oil spill that resulted in the loss of freedom to the wildlife in and outside the water, it made me re-think if we were justified to celebrate our freedom as other species on earth lost theirs..maybe we should pause for a minute to pray that all ends well soon.
Do we celebrate 4th July
amidst the oil spill and suffering
of nature and wildlife in the bay
Maybe it is a bad haiku attempt but a truly heartfelt one..
