Haiku Celebrating Oprah, Obama, and Jay Lenno During National Poetry Month

Haiku About Three People of Importance, Celebrities, If You Will that Have Touched the World

Artisttia Yarns
As part of National Poetry Month, I have risen to the challenge of creating Haiku. Haiku when written in English usually has 17 syllables, 5 in the first stanza, 7 in the next, and 5 syllables in the last. To help celebrate National Poetry Month, I have written three Haiku that celebrate people who in various ways are celebrities. Although President Obama is not what one would normally think of as a celebrity, there is no denying that he has impacted the world. For that reason, I have included him for certainly, in certain areas of the world people see him as a celebrity.

I chose Oprah because she has the ability to inspire me and move me towards my creative self. She has battled with her weight, as I do with mine and has taught me not to be ashamed of battle. She helps motivate me towards self acceptance.

Jay Lenno was chosen due to his ability to look at the world and not take it as seriously as I do. He is able to take things (with the help of his writing staff) and give it a positive spin. I can always count on him to give me at least one good laugh at the end of a bad day. These are the reasons I have chosen to celebrate the lives of these celebrities in Haiku.

Oprah inspires,
towards creativity,
moving me forward.

Presidential man,
Obama leading the land,
giving a new hope.

Lenno makes me laugh
speaking phrases with finesse;
I forget my stress.
