Haiku Trio: Loveland, Colorado Celebrates Valentine's Day

A Haiku Tribute to the Sweetheart City

Karen Zakavec
Loveland, Colorado is also known as the Sweetheart City, so it's no surprise that Valentine's Day is a special time in the city of Loveland. The Sweetheart City is actually quite famous for its Valentine's Day traditions.

Many articles have been written about Loveland's valentine traditions, particularly the valentine remailing program. Every year several Denver news channels feature this famous Loveland tradition. The valentine remailing program has also been featured on national TV.

Being a long time resident of Loveland inspired me to write a haiku trio as a tribute to the way Loveland, Colorado celebrates Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day from the Sweetheart City!

Valentines are sent
From the city of Loveland
All over the world

Hearts are everywhere
Valentines proclaiming love
All around the town

The Sweetheart City
Makes Valentine's Day special
Wishing love to all

Nice one Karen. I've never been to Loveland, Colorado, although I live in neighboring Arizona.

This was a greatly needed pick-me-up, as it is snowy and icy outside here in New England and it does not make me think of hearts, flowers, and chocolates, but Valentine's Day is really not that far off.

Very fitting holiday for Loveland to celebrate. I'm sure that you enjoy all of the extras that decorate the city, or that specially recognize the annual day for romance. An early happy Valentine's Day wish for you (and your hubby!) rcj
