Haikus and Short Poems

Anjanette Barr
Leaves

Brilliant red
Lifeblood of the earth
Flowing down

Peace

Standing inside a cloud
Love's embrace
A Father's patient eyes

Beauty

Walking barefoot through Summer's last clover
Bittersweet tears of parting
Remembering Grace

Redundancy

A fellow classmate and I went together
to hear a singer sing
on a Saturday night one weekend.

Burst

I'm going to burst. Pop.
All at once, my head and heart together,
Are just going to explode.
You are too much for me.

Love Poem

I love you with the love of a thousand raindrops
Falling to earth, surrendering themselves entirely
For the benefit of the one being who understands their consequence...

My husband Robert and I welcomed our first child in February 2008 (Valentine's Day!) and our second in March 2010. Along with caring for my family I work for our church doing administrative work on the website.  View profile
