Hair Dye Styles

There are many different ways you can alter the look of your hair with hair dyes to something more desirable. This added color can help accentuate the natural color of your hair or simply make a statement with the bold design. Almost any look or color design can be used to bring an extra kick of excitement to your hair.

Frosted Tips

The frosted tips look generally works best with shorter hair. This is the look where you will have generally darker colored hair in only a few inches of length. The tips of the hair will then be colored. Usually the tips will be a bleach blond, giving it the "frosted" tip look, however you can use any other color you would like when coloring the tips of your hair. Because the hair is generally shorter with this style it will draw more attention to not only your hair, but your face as well. Longer hair (such as shoulder length) that has frosted tips will draw the focus away from your face and down to your shoulders.

Highlights

Highlighting your hair is a way to draw out the natural color of your hair. Colors similar to your natural color (such as colors a few shades lighter or darker) will be intermixed with your current color. This will give your hair highlights throughout and really make your hair appearance pop and stand out without being over the top. This is a hair dye style though that you will want to stay on top of. After a few weeks you will be able to see your root colors under the dyed hair, which will hinder the illusion. You will also probably want this done by a professional hair stylist. It may cost more but the style will surely look better in the end.

The Streak

A streak is often just one section of hair colored from root to tip in a color totally different from your hair color, like silver or blue. This will give you a bold and eye drawing addition to your hair style, without going over the top by dying your entire head silver or blue. You may actually find that you like the streak of color so much that you decide to add more of that same color to the rest of your hair. Because you are only coloring one streak of hair you can easily do this at home without paying the salon prices.
