Hair Product Reviews: Rita Hazan's Root Concealer

Sarah Afshar
Some of the greatest products (especially hair products) I have ever tried are those products that you come across unexpectedly. Rita Hazan is known for creating products that are reliably of the sort. Rita Hazan is a perfectionist when it comes to color and that is one of things you have admire about her. If you ever have the opportunity to visit her salon on 720 5th Avenue in the heart of the big apple, you will definitely understand why.

Recently when shopping at internationally known beauty boutique Sephora, I had the great pleasure of discovering Rita Hazan's Root Concealer. This product comes in a 1 oz. aerosol spray bottle. After reading it's marketing promise of delivering temporary results that are effective, as a result of a quick, yet instinctive mend, I was modestly impressed and purchased the product right away. I am notorious for coloring my hair often and in 2010 alone, I was a blonde, a redhead, and a brunette, not to mention my hair was also black.

PROS

What I love most about Rita Hazan's Root Concealer is the fact that is dries quickly. If you are looking for a temperamental, swift fix, you are destined to not only love this product, but appreciate it that much more so, as a result. Within seconds, you will notice a difference that appears instantaneously.

Another reason to love Rita Hazan's Root Concealer is the fact that it is relatively long-lasting, as it stays put until you shampoo it out. It is not only water resistant, but sweat proof too, so it does not fade, crease, nor stain anything.

The Rita Hazan Root Concealer comes in an array of different colors. In fact, there are a total of four different shades. Blonde, Red, Light Brown, and Brown/Black. These shades work relatively well for individual hair shades.

What made me so impressed with this phenomenal addition to Rita Hazan is the fact that it is natural. Not only is the Root Concealer free of parabens and sulfates, this incredibly underrated hair necessity is free of synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs, and triclosan.

CONS

It is a well known fact that despite possessing four individual shades, this fantastic product is not 100% universal. If you are a woman/man who has several tones of highlights in your hair, I would not recommend this product. Although it is temporary, it doesn't work well with those who have highlighted hair.

If you are looking for permanent results, then I would not recommend Rita Hazan's Root Concealer. This product serves as an impermanent fix that is only temporary.

For as brilliant as this hair product is, if you are looking to save money and don't want to spend over $20 for 1 oz. of hair product, you may not find the Root Concealer engaging, let alone worth the price.

RATING - 94.5%

You can purchase Rita Hazan's Root Concealer at Sephora for only $24. Would I recommend this product to anyone? Yes. Would I purchase this product again? Absolutely.
