Washing your hair every day may be part of your routine beauty maintenance but it's not always possible. Errands and waking up late can easily eliminate the amount of time it takes to wash, condition and get the perfect blow-out for hair. In these instances there are some helpful tips that will not only save you time but allow you to walk out the door with a stylish head of hair sparing you an extra forty-five minutes.

Over Nighters

There will be times you're unable to make it to your house or don't have time to take a shower after an overnighter but that doesn't mean you have to walk around with obvious bed head. Search the bathroom or pantry for dry goods such as baby powder, baking soda or corn starch for instant dry shampoo. Sprinkle "dry shampoo" into the roots of unwashed hair and use a brush to sift out the left over powder. Repeat those steps until your hair no longer looks oily. This only takes a few minutes and you'll be able to run out the door without needing additional time to wash your hair.

Smooth it out

Shoulder length and long hair opens many options for styles when on the go but one of the quickest is a sleek pony tail. Although silicone serum works wonders to create shine but it may be too heavy and cause your pony to look oily. Instead, use a light weight leave-in-conditioner to smooth out the frizzes and use an elastic band to pull hair back at the nape of your neck, mid-head or higher. Use additional leave-in-conditioner from mid-way down the pony-tail for a smooth finish. For a polished look take a strand of hair from the pony tail and wrap it around the elastic band so it can't be seen. Bobby-pin it underneath and spray with your best hold hairspray.

Quick Up-do

Hair that isn't extremely long can be pulled up in a quick twist when in a pinch. Twist hair from the nape of the neck and bring the twist up the back of the head. Large bobby-pins or hair sticks can be used to hold hair in place, as well as, paperclips for the moments you have nothing else on hand. Spritz hair to help hold the twist in place and use the few minutes you saved to style your bangs. If your bangs are long enough pull them back or use a round vent brush and blow dryer to help sweep bangs to the side for a quick, stylish up-do.
