Haircut Madness

Being Trendy One Snip at a Time

Heather Dekin
Sitting in the black leather swivel chair
The feel of the cold metal scissors
Clumps of hair sprinkling onto the gray linoleum
The picture of a beauty from underneath all that hair
Transforming a plain jane into a beautiful swan
Ego rising like yeast in an oven from the praise
Lasting until the next day when salon products wash out
And the routines of yesterday return with annoyance
Back to being the girl that no one remembered
Would love to go back to the salon for their secrets
Cannot afford another $45 trim this month
Either beauty or paying the car insurance
Obviously the winner of this debate is bills
Until next month when the new bob is no longer new
The next trend will arrive and scissors will sprout
Delivering your hair into fashion trend heaven again.
