HairOff Mittens - Product Review

D. Ilean
Have you heard? HairOff Mittens remove hair instantly! Painlessly! Effectively? I wasn't sure either, when I bought them. They looked promising on the shelf of my drugstore, but I have fooled before. The allure was strong enough; I bought them, brought them home, and tried them out. Here's what I learned about HairOff Mittens that you should know.

HairOff Mittens: Price

The price is definitely a benefit. They were found at my corner drugstore for about $1.50, for one pack of three mittens. How does that compare to alternative method? Well, the similarly-functioning Smooth Away cost me about $10, on sale. Most chemical hair removers are at least $5. Waxing is upwards of $10. The only thing that seems less expensive that the HairOff Mitten is Ol' Trusty: you can buy a cheap razor for $1 (although quality is another story).

HairOff Mittens: Usage

During my trial, I took out a single HairOff mitten and examined it. It looks (and feels) a lot like pink sandpaper. They're made to slip over your palm easily, and then you just have to rub in circles along your skin. Some caution should be applied, however: the back of the label says you should rub gently, so listen to it! Rubbing too hard will leave something akin to a rug burn (or worse). All in all, the usage of this beauty product was pretty easy! As a time-limited consumer, I can appreciate that.

HairOff Mittens: Results

In terms of results, I have to say, I was a bit surprised. I didn't really think it was going to work. But after a bit of experimenting, I got nice results. The HairOff Mitten removes the hair, and also does a lovely job of exfoliating your skin (tip: use lotion after... your skin will be chalky and dry). They were true to their word about chemical-free hair removal, and smooth legs, though I feel it's important to note the pain free claim isn't entirely true. If you do rub too hard, it will hurt! And it's hard to judge how much pressure is too much.

The caveat: it really only works on hair that is already short (think stubble). It's much more difficult to use with long hair, so if you're going to start this method of hair removal, I recommend that you do it a couple of days after shaving for the last time.

Additional Bonus of HairOff Mittens

My package, already a good deal on its own, came with a bonus supply of Instant Eyebrow Shapers. I haven't used them, but who doesn't love free stuff.

I think, overall, I'd recommend people try HairOff Mitten unless they have thin skin (in the very literal sense). Low price and nice results usually work out to being a good for me.
