The Grecian Braid Back
After washing your hair and allowing it to air dry, take a volumizing product or spray and spritz it lightly at the roots to provide maximum oomph without adding any more product to the hair than necessary. Next, take a small portion of your front hair on either side of your face and twist it into a "braid." You do not need an actual braid, just the illusion of one, as you do not want to commit too much hair to this part of the process. After you have made your mini-braids, pull each one back gently and loosely and then secure them together at the back of your head near the end of your part. Leave the rest of your hair loose and let your natural curls fall free.
This style is called the Grecian Braid Back, because your naturally curly hair, coupled with the front pieces pulled back, will call to mind images of Greek women in white dresses, with their curls flowing down their backs. Prepare to be worshiped! The style will also allow you to add a little body with product while not crimping the body your hair naturally possesses.
A Low Side Bun
Pulling back your thin, curly hair can help hide the fact that it is not as full. For a fun and casual summer style, take your hair and pull it back into a low side ponytail. Before securing your ponytail with the final twist, fold the end of your hair into the ponytail and secure it with the final loop. This will leave your curls in an attractive but loose and casual bun. A texturizing product can be used prior to pulling the ponytail back if you want more individual definition within the bun.
The Faux Bump
To add some extra oomph to your hair and add a rocker edge to you look, take the front pieces of your hair and secure them separately from the body of your hair. Work your favorite texturizing product through the body of your hair, then pull the front pieces straight back, securing them loosely at the back of your head with a slight bump at the top. If necessary, use a comb to add a bit more oomph to the bump. This style was worn by Jennifer Lopez to the Academy Awards one year, but she had too much body in the longer pieces to truly pull it off. Your thinner hair will make the shape work better!
Have fun playing up the natural beauty in your curls while not weighing the thin aspect of your hair down with too much product!
