How You Can Help the Relief Efforts in Haiti After the Devestating Earthquake
1. Text Message Donations- Text message donations allow you to donate money to the disaster relief fund without even leaving your house. There are a few ways to donate via text message if you live in the United States.
SMS text "HAITI" to 90999 to donate $10 to Red Cross relief efforts
SMS text "YELE" to 501501 to Donate $5 to Yéle Haiti's Earthquake Relief efforts
SMS text "GIVE10" to 20222 to donate $10 to Direct Relief
2. Website Donations- You can visit the following websites and donate to the disaster relief fund for Haiti. These websites offer a way to donate for those outside the U.S.
Clinton Bush Haiti Fund- you can donate using a credit card or a paypal account
UNICEF- you can donate by mail, phone, or on the website
Direct Relief International- look under the programs dropdown menu and click on "Emergency Relief- Haiti Earthquake"
Yéle Haiti- provides information on "Hope for Haiti" on MTV and how you can purchase it on iTunes; you can text a donation, shop in their online store and buy apparel to show support for Haiti (proceeds go to the relief efforts), or you can donate online
American Red Cross- has information on volunteering and donating blood as well as donating money to the relief efforts in Haiti
Save the Children- donation provides food, water, and medical attention; you can donate online or by mail
Doctors Without Borders- find information about volunteering, donate online or by mail
Feed the Children- $10 minimum donation; contribution levels tell you the type of assistance that will be given
Habitat for Humanity- you can donate on behalf of your company
