What a beautiful love it was.
We swore we'd stay together forever.
Later you started seeing others.
You wanted me and several more.
Our lives are about half over.
It isn't forever!
I think you loved me half of forever--
Or maybe you loved me never.
Half of forever, and I was a fool.
Everybody knew but me.
Everybody laughed with glee!
I thought you were true.
I was happy with you.
You wanted me and more.
Your forever was over.
Now you are gone.
I'm on my own.
Now I will never trust another.
Our love only lasted half of forever.

Priscilla, I do write many love poems for my wife. I wonder how we ever made it 38 years. I love her dearly, but I don't how she ever puts up with me. Thanks so very much for your comment that lets me know that you know marriage isn't always a bed of roses for a couple to last that long in todays world is almost a miracle.
