Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry Split

In very sad and disappointing news today, RadarOnline.com is reporting that Halle Berry and her very handsome boyfriend and baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry, have called it quits.

The early reports are that it was Gabriel who pulled the plug on the relationship saying that the 9 year age difference between them was part of the split. Apparently, Gabriel was beginning to have a wandering eye and rather than cheat on Halle, decided a break-up would be the nobler route.

Sadly, for Halle, she finds herself beautiful, rich, successful and alone again as another relationship bites the dust. Halle's first marriage to Atlanta Braves baseball star, David Justice , ended amid claims of domestic violence. Halle's second marriage to singer, Eric Benet, ended in 2003, when Halle discovered that her husband was sharing their marital bed with other women.

When Halle met Gabriel at a photo shoot, she said the attraction was instant and the love was passionate. They have seemed very happy all these years and their love produced a lovely little girl, Nahla Ariela, which both Halle and Gabriel will share 50/50 joint custody of. Halle said she had sworn off marriage after she failed miserably twice and both she and Gabriel have expressed they were content and happy with merely co-habitating.

Those close to the couple have said the split is respectful, amicable and that Gabriel who earns considerably less than Halle as a fashion model, will not be demanding any financial compensation. It seems Gabriel's only request is that he is able to keep a home they purchased together in Canada - his native country - and that Halle has agreed.

Halle Berry has been the poster child for failed relationships. For someone so beautiful and successful it's rather hard to wrap your head around. Once again, the message is that beauty, fame and wealth does not a successful and happy love life guarantee. In fact, Halle has often said herself that her beauty has not afforded her any special privileges in the love department. Hard to imagine, but it appears to be the truth.

Without a doubt, Halle Berry is all class and from the little bit the public has learned about Gabriel Aubry, he seems to share equally in the class department. I'm sorry to hear that their relationship is not going to stand the test of time, but I do take my hat off to both of them for not turning it into a Hollywood carnival scene. It bodes well for the character of them both and it will certainly go a long way for the well-being of their child.

Somewhere, I'm sure Jamie Foxx is doing the happy dance. Halle Berry is available once again.
