From the themed workshops at the library to the traditional trunk-or-treating event, here are some of the top Halloween 2009 events taking place in and around Miami:

Halloween Fun at the Public Library
The Miami-Dade Public Library will be hosting a Halloween Fun event for children and teens on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Spend the day listening to spooky Halloween storytellers, make some fun Halloween crafts, and learn more about the history of Halloween with the workshops and events throughout the day. Monster Splash Nighttime Bash at the Miami Seaquarium
The Miami Seaquarium is a fun destination for Halloween revelers that want to explore the aquarium by day, and then take part in a trick-or-treating event at night. The Seaquarium will be hosting four night s of Halloween revelries that include themed candy stations for trick-or-treaters, haunted houses, a fireworks show and animal shows. The Halloween celebration runs from Wednesday October 28 through Friday October 30, 2009. The Miami Sequarium is located at 4400 Ricknbaker Causeway in Key Biscayne, Florida. MetroBoo! at the Miami Metrozoo
The MetroBoo! event takes place on one day only on Saturday, October 31.MetroBoo! is a fun kids-only event that features live music, trick-or-treating stations and costume contests for all age groups. The zoo is decorated with Halloween decorations and colorful lights, and kids can explore the zoo grounds with parents to see the themed displays and animal exhibits throughout the day. The Halloween events run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Halloween day. You'll find the Miami Metrozoo at 1 Zoo Boulevard in Perrine, Florida, a short drive from downtown Miami. Halloween in Homestead Trunk-or-Treat
Head to the Harris Field Pavilion for the Halloween in Homestead Trunk-or-Treat event. This family-friendly event takes place on Halloween day and is a Miami tradition that allows kids to trick-or-treat from vehicles scattered throughout the park. The event is free and open to all ages, and begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. The Harris Field Pavilion is located at 1034 NE 8th Street in Homestead, a short drive from downtown Miami. Halloween Sundowner at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is famous for its annual Halloween events, and the Halloween 2009 theme is the Halloween Sundowner Ball. Head here for a costume contest, great food and creative cocktails as you dance the night away on the grounds of the beautiful mansion and gardens. The Halloween event is designed for adults only, and raises funds for the preservation and restoration of the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. The Halloween Sundowner runs from 8 p.m. until midnight.
