Elitch Gardens - Fright Fest 2008 (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October) and on October 11th, the pet costume contest.
Location:
Downtown Denver. From I-25, go south on Speer Blvd. (Exit Speer South). Turn right onto Elitch Circle. If you take the RTD bus or Light Rail, they both stop at Elitch Gardens.

Denver Botanic Gardens: Pumpkin Festival on October 11th and 12th - 9am to 5pm and the Corn Maze on weekends from September 5th to October 26th

Terror in the corn could be too much for children under 6 years old

Sunday - Thursday from 7pm to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday from 7pm to midnight
