There are several family friendly Halloween and Harvest activities taking place in Kosciusko County and the surrounding areas in the next few weeks. Choose one that interests you from the list, and have a fantastic time.

Oct. 16-31
The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo will host the Great Zoo Halloween! Visit the zoo week nights from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and weekends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm to take part. Featuring trick-or-treat stations, pumpkins decorated to look like popular movie and TV characters, and Broom Hilda the witch, the great zoo Halloween is sure to be a blast. Oct. 17
Join us for pumpkin painting with the Warsaw parks department. The event will take place in the Boggs recreation building at 10:00 a.m. Cost is five dollars for each pumpkin. All painting and decorating supplies will be provided. Click here for more information.

Oct. 17
The Silver Lake Sesquicentennial Fall Fest will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Silver Lake Conservation Building. Activities include: burial of the time capsule at Memory Park, kids coloring activity, pumpkin baking contest, pony rides, face painting, and more. For more information, click here.

Oct. 23-25
Potawatomi Zoo, in South Bend, will host Zoo Boo. Visit the zoo on Friday or Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Sunday, the zoo will host Little Zoo Boo, designed primarily for children under the age of seven; from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $5.50 for children. Oct. 24
Professional story teller Carol Knarr will be at the Syracuse library to present Spooky Stories. The concert is supposed to be family-friendly, but may not be suited for very small children. The concert begins at 2:00 p.m. and is free to the public. Click here to learn more about Ms. Knarr and the concert she will present.

Oct. 28
Manchester College will host a trick-or-treat night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Children are invited to tour the college's resident halls where Manchester students will be giving out candy. There will also be pumpkin related activities in which children can participate. visit the college website to find out more.

Oct. 30
Warsaw will hold its downtown Spooktacular on the southeast corner of the courthouse lawn. Registration for the costume contest begins at 5:00 p.m. Trick-or-treating will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the costume contest will follow.
