Try lining up all of your Halloween apple skulls on a fireplace mantel for a super eerie effect. The candle light will really make your small Halloween apple skulls look real!
To Make These Apple Skull Candle holders you will need:
1 small plate
1 tapered candle
1 Apple
Knife
Tooth picks
Now, start by peeling your apple. You know how an apple turns brown? Well, after about a week of sitting out, your apple will take on a shrunken brown color perfect for Halloween.
Simply peel away the outer layer of red skin. Now, use the knife to carve out some simple eyes, a nose area, and a mouth.
You do not have to be perfect here. As you apple shrinks, the details will take on a sharper and scarier look.
Now, once you gave the face finished on the apple skull you want to cut out a hole in the top of the apple core fo your candle to slide in. You will be using a tapered candle, but you could also use a tea candle.
Cut this hole a little obit bigger than you candle, it will shrink.
Tips: Choose a nice large apple. It will shrink.
You can also use dripless candles if you want.
Be sure to start this Halloween apple skull craft project a week in advance. The apple will need plenty of time to discolor, harden, and shrink.
Once Halloween is here, place the apple skull on a small plate. A tea cup plate works well.Place your tapered candle inside the apple. Now, make a row of these in the kitchen, on the fireplace mantel, or anywhere else people will be to keep an eye on the candles.
You can even sprinkle some sand on the plate around the apple.
Light yoru candling you are finished!
If you want to turn your apple skulls into pirates you can use that sand as before. Add an eye patch for a fun look! You can also add some hair or even stitches with black thread.
Turn yoru apple skull into a shrunken cat skull by spraying the whole apple black once it has dried. You can add whit whickers made of thread or fishing line.
You can also paint yoru apples in glow in the dark paint for even scarier Halloween skull décor!
