Franken Plaza (Daley Plaza) is decorated with a Halloween theme for this family friendly event that delights kids. Chicagoween features a Monster Bash, special performances, hayrides, prize give-aways and trick-or-treating. Chicagoween is presented by Underwriters Laboratories. Admission to Chicagoween is free.
Chicagoween is a weekend event that gives kids a chance to get decked out in their Hallloween costumes and enjoy the entertainment. Kids and adults can enjoy the acrobatics and entertainment at Franken Plaza.
Sticking with the Halloween theme, the number of performers is a lucky 13 for the 13th annual Chicagoween celebration. Midnight Circus amazes audiences with acrobatics that defy gravity and spooktacular theatrics. Midnight Circus is an eco-friendly contemporary acrobatics act which is an annual favorite at Chicagoween.
The Monster Bash is on Saturday, October 30. The Monster Bash is a celebration that includes a costume contest and Halloween treats. Visitors to Daley Plaza get to witness the transformation into scary and colorful Franken Plaza. The fountain water is dyed orange. There will be performances and activities for kids and adults.
The Mayor's Office of Special Events has not released the full schedule as of this writing, but Chicagoween traditionally includes a farmers market, music, storytelling and a movie night featuring a Halloween flick.
Chicagoween is a family-friendly event that parents can share with their children, creating warm holiday memories that can last a lifetime.
Chicagoween is sponsored Underwriters Laboratory (UL). UL reminds parents to protect their children for a safe Halloween. Safety tips include adding reflective tape to costumes; making sure that walkways are well lit; inspecting candy before allowing children to eat it; making sure that costumes do not obscure vision; and making sure that that costumes do not present trip hazards. UL also advises people to inspect electrical lighting for wear and to beware of candles and open flames.
Chicagoween is produced by the Mayor's Office of Special Events and sponsored by Underwriters Laboratories. Chicagoween is being held at Franken Plaza (Daley Plaza) located at 50 West Washington in downtown
Chicago.
In addition to Chicagoween at Franken Plaza (Daley Plaza), the City of Chicago offers Halloween events during the entrie month of October. The Chicago Park District offers activies and pumpkin patches throughout the city. Check the Explore Chicago website for a schedule.
