Halloween Celebrations in Washington DC 2011

Wouldn't it be fun to see politicians dressed up for Halloween? It'd be a change from those devil costumes they wear year round! In all seriousness, below find a list of fun things to do for Halloween in Washington DC and its suburbs.

The DC Drag Queen Race
Always the Tuesday before Halloween, this is a fun and unique way to celebrate. The race starts at 9pm, but most people get there early to get a spot, around 6pm. Located near Dupont Circle in DC between P and S Streets, NW on 17th.

Boo at the Zoo
Enjoy your Halloween at the National Zoo in Washington DC. Trick or treat animal style at the zoo and get a chance to meet animals and zoo keepers, enjoy fun decorations and of course CANDY!!! You can buy tickets in advance - they are on sale now. 3001 Connecticut Avenue, NW.

Kings Dominion Halloween Haunt

This popular theme park in Doswell, Virginia, hosts the Kings Dominion Halloween Haunt. There will be mazes, scare zones, scary shows and more, this is a fun destination for your Halloween activity. Enjoy the spectacular everyday rides along with some spookiness. About an hour and a half drive South from Washington DC. 16000 Theme Park Way. Starts Septebmer 30 and ends October 30 - weekends only.

Legends of the Fog
Enjoy this attraction in Aberdeen, MD from September 30th through November 5th - weekends only. Located on Carsins Run Road, enjoy the "Maze of Darkness", a "Sinister Circus," a hayride and more - to name a few. This attraction is an hour and a half ride North and east of DC.
