Halloween is not only a great time for costumes and trick-or-treat, but also for coloring pictures of Halloween ghosties, goblins, and long-leggity beasties. For parents who love engaging their children in coloring pictures instead of playing video games, free coloring pages (as opposed to paying for a coloring book) are an added benefit.
Mixed Halloween coloring pictures. The Kaboose website always has great kid's activities. These six printable pages include fairly simple images--for those who aren't quite as advanced at coloring pictures--and include traditional Halloween monsters, kids going trick-or-treating, and a cute image of a cat in a pumpkin. There's also a page with a haunted house for kids who are more adept with crayons.
Detailed Halloween coloring pages. A site I've recently discovered, Reading-With-Kids, has 17 pages of fun for your soon to be trick-or-treaters. Most are detailed images, but a few are simpler. My favorites include a witch flying past the moon, a skull and crossbones, a mummy, and the funniest one of all ... an invisible man. (And of course, there's nothing to color on that page because after all, he's invisible. Older kids will love the concept!)
Halloween skeleton pictures. These great set of pages are all skeletons. Several of the "death skeleton" images might spook younger children, but the funny skeleton and gentleman skeleton images would probably be fine for them. Older children would enjoy the skeleton carrying his head under his arm, as well as the other images.
Halloween masks to color. This site carries a unique set of coloring pages ... Halloween masks to color. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you'll find free, printable masks of a clown, mummy, Frankenstein, baby ghost, and kitty. In addition, there are starry eye glasses and flower power spectacles ... all of which add up to a lot of free fun with Halloween pages and crayons.
Monsters and mythological creatures coloring pages. Although not strictly Halloween creatures, children will still enjoy the trolls, elves, giants, and gnomes, as well as the other monsters and mythological creatures. If you don't want ads included on the printable pages, be sure to read the printing instructions.
Try out a few of the links and you're sure to find printable pages that your children will enjoy. You might even be inclined to grab a crayon and color a Halloween image yourself. After all, they're free, so you've nothing to lose and a lot of fun to gain.
