Halloween Costume Accessories to Remember

Don't Forget These Fun Pieces

Tonya Hillukka
Accessories add a unique touch to the average Halloween costume. This is the fun part of putting an outfit together. Plus, the extra decorative pieces you choose tell a lot about who you are (and - depending on your costume - what you are pretending to be). Don't forget to put on some of these fun adornments before you go out.

Halloween Accessories: Hats & Wigs

A hat or a wig (or both!) can go with just about any outfit. A wig can give you completely different hair for the night, whether it is realistic or totally funky. And hats come in just about any shape, size, and color.

Halloween Accessories: Masks & Makeup

Masks can be scary or they can be silly. A mask, and sometimes carefully applied makeup, will give you a completely new face. Your friends might not even recognize you, in fact.

Halloween Accessories: Teeth & Fangs

Certain costumes call for fake teeth or fangs to complete the look. Vampires or werewolves, for example. They can be annoying when you are trying to eat and drink, though.

Halloween Accessories: Contacts & Eyelashes

Contact lenses come in a variety of colors these days; you could go spooky with red ones or even spookier with white. They even come in purple and normal colors (blue, green, brown, and gray). False eyelashes add volume and length (and perhaps a bit of sparkle).

Halloween Accessories: Tattoos & Glitter

Glitter adds drama to any costume, and you will be able to find temporary tattoos in many different styles. There are designs for practically any style. Placement of the tattoos is also important, so don't forget to consider where you will put them.

Halloween Accessories: Wand & Sword

These don't apply to many costumes, but you might find one useful. For example, a wand or sword might be suitable if you plan to dress as a wizard or a knight.

Halloween Accessories: Boots & Belts

Think about the shoes or boots you are going to wear; they are important, too. They need to complement the rest of your outfit. A belt might also be a suitable finishing touch.

Don't forget to look for some fun accessories to complete your Halloween costume this year. These extra pieces add a lot to an outfit - they are what make it unique. Besides, they can be the fun part of putting a costume together. And your options are not just limited to this list.
