Halloween Costume Guide for Jeff Hardy

My son absolutely loves WWE and all the wrestlers that are on there, but his all time favorite wrestler is Jeff Hardy. He was pretty upset the other week when Jeff lost his match to CM Punk and Jeff Hardy had to leave the show, however I told him that we would make him Jeff for Halloween and then my mind had to go into overdrive on how to create this costume. Nowhere that I have searched has a complete costume for Jeff Hardy so I had to come up with one all on my own. This costume can be for any age just make sure when you are getting the items for it that I will describe below, you get them in the age appropriate size.

Hair
I bought a brown wig from Walmart. After I brushed out the tangles, I added some water and hair gel (about a dime size squirt) to matte down a little and give it a wet look. I allowed my son to pick out the hair colors, blue, green and black, but any color will do. I even have seen Jeff Hardy have purple in his hair. I took sections of the wig (about the size of 1 inch in diameter) and sprayed the color hair paint (which was also bought at Walmart). I rotated out the color hair paint for the rest of the hair so it has blue, green and black streaks in it. I did not color all the hair because I wanted the brown hair to stand out. After I added a little more hair gel and pulled it back into a pony tail. Note, if the wig is longer then an inch below the shoulders then trim up the wig to get it to that spot.

Shirt
I am sure you know what I am talking about when I saw a wet suit shirt. They are those tight fitting shirts made for either working out or being at the beach when you are surfing. I know our Walmart still has these on sale. The ones I bought are made by Starter, however these were the kids shirts so I am not sure who will make an adult size wet shirt. I bought a black one and a white one, both short sleeved. I did not go up a size on what I was picking out because I wanted these shirts to fit extremely tight! I did not do anything to the white shirt, however I took a pair of scissors to the black shirt and cut holes all in it and slit lines into as well. My son will wear the white shirt under the black one.

Arm Bands
I think this is Jeff Hardy's signature look. To achieve it I simply bought a pair of women's trouser socks in black and white and cut out the feet in them however I left a little material around the foot section to allow that piece to hook onto my sons thumb. Going all the way up the sock I cut in holes and ripped some lines to get that holey look of the arm bands. I am going to have my son wear the white ones under the black ones just like I did with the shirt.

Jeans
I didn't buy anything for this, mainly because I already had a pair of jeans that fit the Jeff Hardy look perfectly. The style of jeans you will need to have are a pair of black faded jeans that are extremely baggy. If you want, you could tear the knee on just one leg to give them that worn in look because that is Jeff's style.

Shoes
Basic black, high tops are the perfect match for completely this outfit.

To add more pizazz to this costume all you need to do is paint the finger nails either black or bold green. You can also do some face paint, but the pattern for that is all up to your discretion because Jeff Hardy has never had a set pattern on how he has painted his face. He sometimes will do a leopard look all the way to covering his whole face in black paint.
