Halloween Costume Idea: The Hills

Whether you like them or not, the stars of The Hills have had a huge impact over pop culture over the last few years. For this reason the cast would make a great Halloween costume for an individual or for a group of people. It is a pretty easy costume to pull off if done the right way. For all of the characters you can carry a packet of papers stapled together with the word "script" across the front. It is a much talked about thing, if the show is scripted of not. It should get a chuckle out of most people, and help others to understand your costume since you are portraying regular people. If you have enough people in your party you can even have some of them pretend to be the crew. A broom handle with foam on the end can serve as a boom microphone. Others can carry clipboards, and backpacks with the sound equipment. If you don't have enough people a small box painted black clipped onto your waist or exposed bra strap will serve the purpose of a mic pack and help with your costume. You can attach a black pair of earphone buds to it and run it around to the front of your costume. Here is a rundown of the cast. Pick one that is most like your appearance, or one that you can portray as closely as possible. Remember, it's about being the character. Confidence will go a long way with this costume.

Lauren - blond hair or a blond wig with a braided section across the front will pull off this look. She wears her hair in an updo as well. She wears a lot of pretty tops. Sleeveless flowing tanks are a good way to pull off this look. She works as a stylist, so if you want to add this aspect to the costume you can carry around hangers of clothes. For makeup, think the girl next door. Lip gloss and light pink hues will complete the look.

Audrina - This costume should be a little edgier. Think black. This long haired brunette wears a lot of skinny jeans and tight black tank tops. She wears a thin choker necklace as well. Leather is also a good addition to this costume. Play up the eyes when doing the eye makeup on this costume. A smokey eye and heavy eyeliner and mascara will finish this look off.

Heidi & Spencer - this is a look that should be done as a couple. Since she looks like most California girls it will be hard to sell the look on its own. A blond wig for both people with a flesh colored beard on the guy will complete the look. She usually dresses in skirts and classic style clothing. And he usually wears a button up shirt or t shirt. The makeup on Heidi should be moderate. Heavier on thh eye makeup but not dark, and lots of lip gloss.

Brody - This is the typical guy's guy on the show. A t shirt and jeans with a dark wavy hairstyle will get this look. It's easy to achieve this look, but remember, him and Spencer do not get along, so stay in character.

Lo - This is your all American girl next door. To get his look put on your pretty sundress and light pinkish makeup.

For all of these costumes it may be hard for people to know who you are. Just like in the show, don't be afraid to label yourself. The show is constantly telling you in text on the bottom of the screen who the person is. So you can use the same font as the show and attach a name tag to your waist to look like it does on TV. Have fun with these costumes and try and stay in character. You will have a lot of fun with your friends acting out parts of the show for your friends.
