You picked out great costumes for your children and then you find out you are invited to a Halloween party. The babysitter is lined-up, your husband has a costume but you have no idea what to be. The key is not to spend anymore money. Below are some great, inexpensive ideas for women looking to make a splash at a Halloween party, work party or at home giving out candy.
1. Do you have that old graduation hat from college or high school? If not, a friend will. Cut a white sheet and attach it to the hat for a nun's habit. Get yourself a black robe or sheet and you have a cute, easy costume.
2. Who can forget Flashdance? Cut the neck out of an old sweatshirt, get some tights and sweat shorts and curl your hair. Dig out those old leg-warmers if you can find them.
3. We all know a nurse. Never mind the fact that you are afraid of needles, Halloween is for pretend. Get their scrubs and uniform and you have a free costume to wear; add in a stethoscope and cute nurse hat.
4. Do you have a business pant-suit? Put it on and be a CSI Investigator.
5. 80's, 80's, 80's - Big hair, loud clothes, big jewelry. It's easy to primp and punk out and show up as an 80's girl. Get yourself a can of Aquanet for an accessory.
6. Black is slimming but is also the perfect cat burglar outfit. Black pants, turtleneck and black nit hat are all you need for the perfect burglar outfit.
7. Who is your home football team? Be an "overexcited fan" - wear your home team jersey, jazz up your hair and get excited.
8. Do you own a skirt, shirt and scarf? Put your hair in a ponytail and be a 50's girl - minimal prep and still look cute.
9. Wear your best black dress and look fancy and pretty and call yourself a 'wedding guest.' This is so easy and you will impress your husband.
10. Do you have those old pregnancy overalls on hand? Get some overalls, put your hair in braids and you are a farm-girl.
