Halloween Costume Ideas for Pets

Bandit
Halloween is a fun time of the year and since our pets are part of the family, dress up your pet this Halloween and let them join in on all the adventure! These Halloween costumes are very simple to make for your pet. You will have lots of fun making these and your pet will be a Hollywood star! If you are searching for Halloween costume ideas for your pet, then you have found the right place.

Dress your cat to look like Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat

What you need

Felt material in red and white

Empty Oatmeal Box

Kite string

4 Baby booties either in white or red

Cut the empty oatmeal box down to be small enough to fit your pet's head and glue on the strips of felt and alternate the colors on to the empty oatmeal container. Make the brim of the hat by cutting out a circle using either a piece of felt or construction paper and attach the brim to the hat by using a glue gun or Elmer's craft glue. To hold the hat on you cat's head, cut a strip of kite string and then poke a small hole on to each side of the brim of the hat and insert the string through. Place a dab of hot glue or tape over each end of the string to hold it in place. When the hat is on your cat's head, tuck the string under the chin.

Take a strip of red felt and tie it into a bow. Tie the red bow to your cat's collar by using a piece of kite string.

Place the red or white booties on all four paws

Make your pet look just like Kate Gosselin.

All you need for this is a short blond wig with spikes

Wide Framed Sunglasses

Make you pet look like that famous Farrah Fawcett poster from the 70's.

A toddler sized one piece red swimsuit

Long blonde wig with curls

Dress your pet to look like a giant flea.

Items you need:

Gray Felt material (1-1/2 yards, depends on the size of your pet)

Swimming goggles

Fabric Black Marker

Velcro strips

All you do is measure your pet's chest and then cut the material into an oval shape to that length but be sure to cut the material and leave enough room for them to breath good.

Attach the Velcro along both sides of the material about half way down on each side using a hot glue gun.. Lay the materail down on a table and then take a Quilter's knife and cut 6 strips of felt material to use as the legs of the flea. Attach three legs on each side of the material by using fabric glue or a hot glue gun. Let dry. Next take the black fabric marker and write the words 'Flea Bag" across the back of the body of the flea. The swimming goggles represent the big bug eyes for the flea.

I like the Kate Gosselin costume the best. *LOL* I pictured my Shih-tzu with the Kate look. I'm still chuckling. By the way - I nominated you to win the award this month in the pet category. Best of luck to you!

Any pet dressed up as Kate Gosselin should be allowed at least one bite! (LOL)

Cute ideas. I love the cat-in-the-hat costume. I wonder if my cat would let me put a costume on him? :)

I am easily entertained, because I was cracking up at these ideas. My favorite, by far, was the one about Making your pet to look like Kate Gosselin. I'm thinking a cocker spaniel would be a perfect candidate for that idea!
