Potting Soil against joins my Halloween Makeup Tips at the top of the list. It is going to be better than dirt you find in your back yard, because it will be '˜clean' (meaning no bugs, glass, icky stuff, dog poop, etc.) and though it will cost you some money, it will last for a long time.
Begin by taking your potting soil, and liberally smearing it onto your costume. Add a little water for some stick (though most potting soil is relatively moist) and clump some into your hair or wig. Next, you will pull up your sleeves, and one by one, stick your arms as far as they will go into your bag. Work your hands around well, try to get some under your finger nails, and rub some vigorously on the top of each finger nail. This will make it appear as if you've just crawled out of the grave! This is what Halloween is truly about, folks, freaking out your friends and family! ;) Follow these simple (and very cheap) Halloween Makeup Tips, and you will be the envy of your Halloween Party!
Your materials will cost around $10 to $15 dollars if you get the good stuff, but I discourage you from doing these! Buy the cosmetics I will recommend at Wal-Mart or a Dollar Store where you can get very inexpensive cosmetics.
Gathering Your Supplies
Go to Wal-Mart, purchase a small bag of potting soil, a red eye-liner pencil, a very light foundation, white, dark green, and dark brown eye shadow,
Halloween Makeup Tips - Zombie
Use your red eyeliner pencil directly under your eyes, in a thin line. If you need to, get help for this step. Now you should cover your exposed skin with the pale foundation, and accentuate the high points of your face with the white eye shadow. When you are as looking as white as a ghost, mix the brown and green eye shadow into a paste, and put it in the crevices around your face. Apply the eye shadow around the nose, above the eyes, around your lips, and maybe in between the cracks of your fingers if your potting soil did not stick so well.
From here you have a solid base with which to leave as is, or you can really enhance your look with some items found around the house. If you have the luxury, the night before Halloween, go to sleep with wet hair. If you can, put some mousse and hair spray in it before you go to bed. Your hair in the morning will be perfectly '˜ghastly', but that is kind of the point! This is a Halloween Tip usable for many different costumes, including my Halloween Makeup Tips - Homeless Person.
Now then, though made up, your face is still a blank canvas for the most part. You need to enhance it with some more of these Halloween Makeup tips!
Smear Vaseline on your face liberally, and sprinkle a handful of rice onto it. This will give the effects of maggots -- slowly -- crawling -- down -- your -- face! DISGUSTING! This tip can also be used on your arms with less rice. When using the Vaseline, spread a very thin layer onto your hands, and shake people's hands liberally. (Do this only to people you know!) This is even more effective when clumps of dirt and 'maggots' fall onto others. Be prepared for some screaming!
Instead of Vaseline and rice, you could also choose to be a puss filled, stinky, rotting blister. Get a bar of soap, and wet it down. Thoroughly cover your hands and face with a thick layer of the wet soap onto your face and let it dry for a '˜bit. Now when you arrive at the party, go into the bathroom with a vial of vinegar that you have pre-prepared. Pour the vinegar on your face, and watch blisters, boils, and sores automatically appear! It is much cooler with the dark makeup underneath it, and it works very well!
Enjoy (and use) these Halloween Makeup Tips and be sure to let me know if any of them have helped! Have a great day, and Happy Halloween!
