Halloween Costume Parties in San Diego, California

Halloween is all about the costumes right? It's that time of the year where you can show off your creativity and express yourself in just the right way. But after you have finished preparing the perfect outfit, where do you go? Sure your friends and families will have parties going on but what about something bigger? This Halloween there are some great places to unveil that work of creation (or the one you bought at Party City, hey I'm not judging) and here are just a few of them that you might have to make an appearance at.

Monster Madness Halloween Party

Location: 1875 El Prado, San Diego
Date: October 30th
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Price: $40.00 to $50.00

This is the 2nd annual costume party in Balboa Park and this sounds really fun. This night will feature entertainment from the Xceptions, great food, silent as well as live auctions, readings from psychics, a costume competition as well as games. All of this goes to an extremely good cause as their profits go towards The Monarch School which helps children who are at risk as well as the homeless between the ages of 7 to 18. Come out and enjoy this night and the bonus is that you will be helping some kids who are in great need.

Gaslamp's Monster Bash

Location: 5th Avenue and Market Street
Date: October 27th
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Price: $20.00 in advance or $25.00 at the door
Age: 21 and up. ID is required.

Okay this is San Diego's hottest Halloween block party so if there is just one place you're considering, this is it. You better have a good costume here because the cash prize is an astounding $3,000. Make sure you register as soon as you can because the cut off is 9:30 p.m. There will be tons of music entertainment including DJs.

Nightmare on Normal Street

Location: Normal Street between University and Blaine, Hillcrest
Date: October 27th
Time: 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Price: $5.00 donation
Age: 21 and up

Another great block party and this fun event is hosted by San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center. It is sure to be an exciting night that includes a costume competition that gives away over $1,00 in prizes, a routine by the Technomania Circus, music by DJ Talonya, a booth to take photos and of course food. This goes to a good cause as well as it provides for the Hillcrest Youth Center. There will also be an after party for those interested.
