Halloween Costume Shops in Bossier / Shreveport, Louisiana

Reviews of Great Places to Shop for Your Halloween Needs

BJ Rees
If you have plenty of time on your hands, you might want to make your own Halloween costume, but remember that doing it yourself can get expensive. If you are like most of us working people, you just can't spare the extra time it requires to make it yourself, so we go shopping for it instead! In the Bossier / Shreveport, Louisiana area, there are plenty of Halloween shops to choose from, so finding the costume or item you're looking for is easy! Making the choice of which store to choose from, that is the hard part. I'm here to tell you in my opinion, what I think of each of these stores, but remember, everyone's opinions are different.

For Halloween, I like to go all out. Finding the best costume with the right price, and then finding the perfect adornments to match the outfit. It's a lot of work, but I always have fun with it! Each store is a little different. They don't always have the same style like if you're looking for a witch with sex appeal, I would recommend The Fun Shop, or with a little MORE sex appeal, possibly, The Fun Shop Too. For a variety of witches with flare, best place would be Party City. Practical witches can be found at both Wal-Mart and K-Mart. Then there is Super Target, with it's unique selection.

For a more ADULT variety, you'll want to visit The Fun Shop Too. They have dress-up Items not just for Halloween. I wouldn't recommend taking the kiddies to this one!!

It's difficult to choose which store you want to shop at because all of them have a wide range of costumes to choose from. In addition to that, each one is around the same decent price, give or take a few dollars.

ACCESSORIES: To get the right accessories for my costume, I make my first stop at Party City. This is where I browse through their costumes, trying on a few to make sure I have the perfect one for me. While you are there, glance around at their accessories. They seem to have more Halloween accessories than any other store I've listed, like masks, face paints, wands, a variety of wings, horns, and nurse must-haves, each with a lot of different choices of styles. Chances are, no matter what you're looking for, you'll find it here.

PRICING: Wal-Mart is the cheapest, but Party City, which focuses on Halloween, has the better selection. The price range can be anywhere from $1-$10 difference for costumes, but remember each store is different. Maybe the devil costume you saw at one store is cheaper at the other or those horns at that store don't compare to the style of the ones you wanted from the other store, even though they're a little more expensive. Overall, the price you pay depends on which store has the thing that you "have" to have!!

INDIVIDUAL REVIEWS:

WAL-MART- The most popular. Great quality, cheaply priced, nice selection and it's convenient. This is possibly the best place, it seems whatever you're looking for, you're more than likely to find it here. Whether it's for yourself, a matching outfit for your spouse, or picking the perfect outfit for the children. Walmart has a great selection from Super Heroes and Princesses, to Story Book and Television characters, and even the classic witches and vampires. You could even add some color to your fangs with their selection of face paints. Or add that certain touch to your zombie costume, making it a little different with a flesh torn arm

K-MART- Like Wal-Mart, K-Mart has great prices. Not as many selections, but a different variety.

SUPER TARGET- Basically the same as the above two, but a few less choices and a slightly higher price in my area.

PARTY CITY- My first choice for variety. They have a lot of costumes and accessories to choose from. They have different choices of the same costume, and having like 6 angel costumes to choose from makes it more fun. They have so many accessories, that you could go in and make your own costume, just by mixing and matching. They carry a wide selection of toddler/children outfits from cute and cuddly to mean and scary. All their costumes are displayed by pictures on the wall, making it very easy to browse the selection and plenty of salespeople waiting nearby to help you. If you want to go try on that Disco Girl costume, just let them know, they retrieve the right sized outfit for you and show you the way to the dressing room. The prices are reasonable and the quality is above average.

THE FUN SHOP-For another store with lots of variety, I suggest checking out this one. They give you more choices along the line of adult themes like "hot" nurses and French maids! Everything is reasonably priced considering that it is a specialty store.

THE FUN SHOP TOO- If you are into an even more adult style of costume, go here. There should be no problem satisfying your "naughty" side!! Although the prices varies greatly here, remember that you get what you pay for!
