Halloween Costumes For You and Your Honey

GK
When couples attend Halloween parties, many of them like their costumes to match in some way. Purchasing pre-made adult costumes can be costly, but many can be made at home just by decorating a sweat suit or putting together a few household items. Below are a few ideas for people seeking coordinating Halloween costumes.

A Pair of Dice

All that is needed for these costumes are two large boxes. Cut holes for your head and arms. Paint the entire box white, and then add a number of dots on each side. The dots can be painted on or black felt circles can be glued on. Black clothing is recommended to wear under your dice to contrast with the white.

Scooby Doo & Shaggy

For Scooby Doo part of the duo, wear a brown sweatsuit, decorated with black felt for the dog's spots. If possible, get a hooded sweatshirt and attach doggy ears to the top. Don't forget the dog collar. A choker necklace can be substituted if you don't want to purchase a real collar. Also, wear brown shoes or boots, and apply brown face paint if you wish.

For Shaggy's outfit, wear a baggy green shirt and wide leg jeans. Purchase a brown, shaggy wig or, if you are already a brunette, grow your hair out for a couple months prior to Halloween. If Shaggy will be played by a man, you may also choose to grow facial hair similar to the cartoon character's goatee.

Laundry Basket & Static Cling

For the laundry basket get up, purchase a cheap laundry basket and cut out the bottom. Create suspenders to hold up your basket by using string, a clothesline, or fishing line. Once you have your basket around your waist, fill it with a few "dirty" articles of clothing.

Static cling's costume is easy. Wear a dark clothing sweatsuit (grey is recommended), and pin items of the laundry that are likely to cling if a dryer sheet isn't used, such as socks, briefs, and anything else you would dare to wear on your clothes for the evening!

Celebrating Halloween is lots of fun, especially when you and your significant other sport matching costumes. It doesn't take a good deal of money to pull your outfits together either. Hopefully you can win a costume contest with one of the above ideas! Just remember to have fun, be creative, and Happy Halloween!
