Worried about a small selection or not finding something that will look good on your dog. Do not worry, there are many to choose from. You are sure to find one you and your dog will love.
Expect to spend anywhere from $10.00 to $50.00 on the costume. Be sure to know the length of your dog, as most costumes are based on that and not the width. Do not over dress your dog. Make sure he/she is comfortable and can walk with ease.
Dog costumes can be purchased at retail stores such as PETCO, Target, Wal-Mart, and Old Navy to name a few. A few great online stores include SpoiledRottenDoggies.com, glamourdog.com, uniquedogclothing.com and fancydress.com.
Popular dog costumes this year include Super hero costumes with the Batman Dark Knight costume being the favorite, followed by Spiderman. Cowboy and cowgirl costumes are always something to bark about. The Playboy Bunny maid and Hef robe costumes are a big hit as are pirate and hot dog costumes.
Other great costume choices are the pumpkin, ladybug and bumblebee. Fairy, wizard and Star Wars costumes are growing in popularity, but many people still favor the little devil and little angel costumes.T
he costumes options do not stop there. There are literally hundreds to choose from and the hardest part is going to be picking one out.
When dressing your dog, be sure to keep him/her relaxed and at ease. Many dogs do not like clothing on them and can become stressed out. Dressing your dog needs to be a positive experience for them, if you see they are just not having it, remove the costume and try again latter.
Do not pick a costume that is going to make your dog too hot. Dress them according to the weather. If it is going to be hot, pick a costume made of plastic or other light material. For a cold Halloween night, a heavier, warmer costume would be best. Remember when taking your dog trick-or-treating with you, to always keep them on their leash, other dogs will be out and about as well.
