Halloween Costumes that Don't Require You to Sew

No Sew Halloween Costumes

Halloween costumes come in so many varieties today. When the holiday comes around we can choose to be anything from a firefighter to a scary goblin. Parents are left with a dilemma to sew or not to sew. Some very creative costumes for Halloween can be made for Halloween without having to worry about the needle and thread. Some of them are still classics and will never go out of style. For the Halloween of today or the Halloween of years to come try these sew free creations.

Ghost- A perfect white sheet with 2 eye holes cut out. How simple is that? The only item you need to make this Halloween costume come alive is a wonderful "Boo" voice. For a special variation on this try a solid blue, pink, orange or light blue sheet to create a Pac-Ghost from the famous video and arcade game Pac-Man. Add a mouth to the front with a marker for extra effect!

Mummy- This costume takes a little bit more time but you won't need to sew at all. This Halloween costume requires a white thermal set and several rolls of thick white toilet paper. Sometimes this can get time consuming but the costume looks great when it is done. Wrap and tie the toilet paper up the legs, arms and around the torso first leaving the tied off ends fairly long. Then wrap the chest area in the same manner. Next do the hip area but keep in mind age, ability to hold bladder or glue the toilet paper to this area so that it moves easily when a bathroom break is needed. For a ratty look shred the long ends of the tied off toilet paper and for an aged look smear dirt on the toilet paper.

Gypsy- A great Halloween costume for any age is the Gypsy. This costume can often be made by items that are already in your closet. A long flowing skirt, a pair of black shoes and a flowing poets shirt make this costume outstanding. Add a coin belt for added effect and also big hoop earrings. A bandanna and make up to brighten the eyes enhance this Halloween costume. Don't forget to add a pouch with Tarot Cards to really feel like a gypsy.

80's Rocker- Big hair days are fun to relive on Halloween night. This is another great costume that you already have stored away in your closet. Ripped up jeans, a band t-shirt and motorcycle boots really make this costume stand out. Don't forget to tease out your hair and up high. For an added punch add black eyeliner to your eyes and find a guitar to use as a prop.

Goth- A very simple costume is the classic Goth. Black clothes from head to toe. Dark smokey eyes and black lipstick complete the look of the Goth Halloween Costume. Add silver jewelry with ankh's or crosses to make this costume stand out. Use black hair spray dye if your hair is not very dark or black.

Store Bought- A great way to avoid sewing a costume is to buy one that's pre-made. Most costumes for Halloween that are bought come with everything you need from leggings to chokers. See if you can find one right for you.

Classy Vampire- This Halloween costume is great for men, women, boys and girls. A fancy dress that's been stored away in the closet and never been worn is perfect for the Classy Vampire Costume. Add vampire fangs, blood red lipstick and a trickle of blood on the corners of the lips to complete this costume. Guys use an old black suit to make this vampire costume stand out. Vampires are often well dressed creatures so class it up by using fancy stuff already in your closet.

Hippy- The hippy is a great Halloween costume. Bell bottom jeans, a flower power shirt and a bandanna make this costume bring you back to times when all people wanted was love and peace. Bare feet or flip flops are great for extra effect. Tie-Dye was also very popular with the hippy crowd as well as peace symbols.

You can get creative without sewing a costume for Halloween it just takes a little imagination, a raid through the closet and a few extra props. Add your own touches to really make your Halloween costume stand out. May your Halloween be a safe one.
