Halloween Costumes that Involve Fangs and False Teeth

A Guide to Frightful Chompers and Costume Ideas

As Halloween draws near, you will find fake teeth of all sorts in retail stores. Yet, of all the costumes available, there are very few that require fangs or some sort of false teeth. Do you really like the idea of wearing them, but aren't sure what costumes options are available? Keep in mind that they can make eating and drinking difficult, especially if you are wearing glue-on fangs (they tend to loosen and fall off) or a full face mask. Plus, you might have a hard time talking normally. If you are still determined to wear them, try one of these Halloween costumes that involve fangs or false teeth.

Vampire - A vampire is the obvious choice, one that probably first comes to mind when you think of costumes that involve fangs. I dressed as a vampire a couple years ago for Halloween. You can buy either full sets of teeth with fangs, or two fangs that you glue to your teeth. Beware that it can be difficult to make the putty stick to your teeth -- they have to be completely dry -- and even then, you might have to reapply them throughout the night.

Werewolf - A werewolf can wear a similar full set of fangs, like those that are available for vampire costumes. My boyfriend, Dan, dressed as a a werewolf the same year I was a vampire, and he simply bought a full face mask that had a breathing hole where his mouth was. However, he had to remove the mask frequently throughout the night.

Hillbilly - For a hillbilly costume, you simply need to wear a ragged flannel or button-up shirt and worn out jeans with a set of crooked teeth. You will find them in any store that sells Halloween gear. Some sets even have a 'missing' tooth, or teeth that are too small or too large. You can achieve a similar look by blacking out some of your real teeth.

Rapper - You will need a set of gold false teeth for the rapper costume. Wear them with the baggiest clothes you own, a hat or cap and, naturally, lots and lots of bling. Or, you can go for the classy rapper look with fitting jeans, a turtleneck and a simple gold chain -- with the gold teeth, of course.

Skeleton - The skeleton teeth look sort of like they are decaying; the gums are blacked out around the teeth, which are also blackened a little to look like they are rotting inside a skull. Paint your face to look like a skull, and wear a skeleton suit to complete the look.

Shark - You can also buy false teeth that are pointed like those of a shark. Visit this website , where you can view and purchase various sets of fangs and false teeth for these Halloween costumes.
