Halloween Costumes for Pregnant Women

Dressing up is so much fun on Halloween. Just because you are pregnant and your belly is a little more round than it was in previous years, does not mean you can't enjoy the holiday and dress up as well. Use your baby bump to its fullest potential and show the world how creative you can be!

To make a jack-o-lantern out of your baby bump, simply paint your bare belly orange and then paint on a face with black paint. You can wear black tights, an orange shirt that will cover you up to your belly and a green hat. If you do not feel comfortable with your bare belly sticking out, use a snug fitting orange shirt instead. Glue on black felt pieces for the face or paint them onto the shirt.

There are several other ideas that you could just paint onto a bare belly for a great costume while pregnant. For instance, you could be mother earth by painting the world on your tummy or you could paint an aqarium on your tummy and be a fishbowl! You could simply be pregnant and paint a baby on your belly as well. Some pregnant women have been known to paint footballs, baseballs, basketballs and other balls on their tummy for Halloween.

To be an 8-ball, get a black shirt and paint a large white circle where your tummy will be. Make the 8-ball there and allow the shirt plenty of time to dry. Wear a pair of solid black tights with the shirt and carry a cue stick if you wish.

Use your pregnant shape to the fullest potential and be a spider. Dress in a snug fitting black shirt and pair of tights. Sew on black "legs" to the shirt and pants. Use bendable wire in the legs so that they are able to stand out.

To be a bun in the oven, use a cardboard box and cut out an oven that will fit over your shoulders and tummy. Cut out a door where your tummy will be and then paint a bun on your belly. You can make the door to the oven re-closeable if you wish, or leave it open. Add knobs to the oven to make it more realistic.

Dress up as "Baby Under Construction" by wearing a pair of painter's jeans, a white shirt with "Baby Under Construction" written on it and a tool belt. In the tool belt include bottles, pacifiers, diapers and a rattle of two. Wear a yellow hard hat and work boots also.

Who ever knew you could become pregnant by swallowing a watermelon seed? Paint your belly like a watermelon and carry a posterboard sign colored like a pack of watermelon seeds.

Many pregnant women find humor in dressing up as a bride, prom queen or nun while they are pregnant. All of these costumes should be fairly easy to pull off. Just find an elegant dress and veil for the bride, a prom dress and sash for the prom queen or a black and white dress and headpiece for a nun.

If you plan on dressing up with your partner for Halloween, you have several options. The mother can go as an egg and the father can go as a chicken. Another idea is to have the father dress up as the devil and the mother wears a shirt that says, "The devil made me do it". Paint your belly as a golf ball or baseball and have your partner be a golf club or bat.
