You will need: Cheesecloth, glue (white" Elmers" type), scissors, wax paper and a black marker or googley eyes, (soda bottle 20 oz or 2 liter for extra large ghosts. Disposable paint tray, or paint tray liner or zip-lock type bag - the tray works mush better but uses more glue, the bag is an inexpensive alternative but a little harder to work with, old cookie sheet

Optional glow in the dark paint, Light and medium brown paint (for an aged effect) or black for a dark ghost, any color you would like. Just be sure it is waterbased. Any color of glitter.

monofilament string and yarn/string to hang from ceiling - see note in directions for hanging ghost version AND SMALL DRILL BIT)

Prepare an old cookie sheet by lining with wax paper. If you need to use two pieces to cover the pan use a piece of tape to join them, this will prevent glue from leaking onto your pan.

If you are making the hanging version. Secure a string to the bottom of the cap by drilling a small hole in the cap and tying a knot in the end of the sting inside the cap., extending past the head by about 6" . Wrap the very end in tape to form a point. This will make sense in a minute.

You will want to pick a drying location for the hanging one and place the wax paper covered baking pan directly below it (such as an upper cabinet handle) you should have enough yarn left over to tie it in a way it will not touch your cabinetry as it will be covered in glue and really messy.

Table-top version: place the soda bottle in the center of the tray.

Cut cheesecloth large enough to drape generously over your ghost form (soda bottle) you want a pooling of fabric that you can make fold creases and piles in for effect.

Pour glue into ziplock-bag or paint tray (liner). Soak cheesecloth in glue until heavily saturated. NOTE: If using the glow in the dark paint (white) or if adding a little color (touch of light/medium) brown for an aged effect add to the glue and mix well before soaking cheesecloth.

Take cheesecloth out and drape over soda bottle

Tabletop Version: Arrange excess on bottom to your liking, let dry

Hanging Version: Work taped point of yarn through center of cheesecloth, work cheesecloth onto soda bottle. Arrange excess to your liking. Hang to dry

If you are using glitter now would be the time to apply it.

Once your creation is dry, remove soda bottle and draw or glue on eyes. For hanging version remove yarn, insert some monofilament thread and tie off leaving a long enough tail o hang from the ceiling. There you have it, an easy spooky fun Halloween decoration.
