Halloween Crafts: Easy Tabletop Decorations

Kelly Spies
Not all Halloween crafts are for kids. The instructions for creating fun and spooky tabletop decorations in this article are intended for everyone, kids and adults alike. They're cheap to make and give your home a little bit of a haunted feeling.

Spider Centerpiece

Supplies Needed:
3 1/2 inch Styrofoam ball
20 guage floral wire
16 Black pipe cleaners
Wiggle eyes
black Halloween garland
metal Floral picks

Instructions:
Use a floral pick to secure the end of the garland to the Styrofoam ball. continue to wrap and pin the garland all the way around the ball until it is completely covered. This will give your spider that hairy look.

Next, take one pipe cleaner and wrap it around one pice of 20 guage floral wire. You will probably have a couple extra inches of floral wire when you get to the end, either snip it off with wire cutters or bend down. Just be sure to leave at least an inch of bare floral wire to stick into your Styrofoam ball.

Wrap another pipe cleaner around the floral wire so that there are 2 pipe cleaners per floral wire. Do this for 8 pieces of floral wire. These will be your spider's legs. When you have all 8 legs shove them into the Styrofoam ball and gently bend them into the shape of legs.

Now just glue your wiggle eyes onto the front and you're done. You should have a cute, hairy spider centerpiece.

Haunted Floral Buckets

Supplies Needed:
1 small, plain or decorated, black, metal pail.(you can find them anywhere during the Halloween season.)
Small ghost and witch floral picks sold at Michael's Arts and Crafts store.
Black and white artificial flowers of any kind.
1 Dry floral Styrofoam cube.

Instructions:

Shove the Styrofoam cube into the bottom of the pail. Make sure it is good and snug. Arrange your artificial flowers anyway you like and shove them into the Styrofoam. Add the ghost or witch floral picks. If you chose a plain black pail decorate the pail with stickers or with stencils. You can also use a white marker and write words like boo on the sides of it.

Spiderweb Punch Bowl

Supplies Needed:
1 Large brandy glass from Michael's Arts and Crafts store.
1 small nylon spider web
glue
black acrylic paint
Red glass paint

Instructions:

Spread the spider web out onto newspaper. Use the sponge to apply black paint to the spider web. Make sure to completely coat the web as this will be used to create a raised surface on the glass. Allow the web to dry overnight.

Once the spider web is dry practice wrapping it around the glass a few times until you get an idea of where you want it placed. Glue the web to the sides of the glass. Dab bits of red here and there in the corners of the spider web for added effect. Fill glass with ice, punch, sticky eyeballs and plastic spiders and you're all set.
