If you are hosting a Halloween party, whether for adults or kids, you should serve some spooky cupcakes to your party guests. You can quickly and easily turn any of your favorite cupcakes into Halloween themes like ghosts, spiders and more.

Halloween cupcakes also make a great treat to serve to very special trick-or-treaters, like your children's friends or your grand kids. You can also make up a nice tin of decorated cupcakes to give as a gift to someone who would enjoy them.

Below you will get suggestions for various Halloween cupcake along with links to images to give you an idea as to how to complete the design. Use these ideas or expand on them to come up with your very own designs.

Halloween Cupcake Design - Spider Cupcakes: Spider cupcakes are very easy to make. The only problem is that they can look so real that any guest that is deathly afraid of spiders will not want to eat one. So, these are good cupcakes to serve to someone who is on a diet. All you need to do is bake or buy dark chocolate cupcakes and frost them with chocolate frosting. Then add chocolate sprinkles on the frosting. Cut black shoestring licorice into pieces and stick them into the cupcake for the legs. Add two red candies for the eyes and you have scary spider cupcakes. Halloween Cupcake Design - Black Cat Cupcakes: To make a black cat cupcake, bake or buy dark chocolate cupcakes and frost them with chocolate frosting. Then add two blue candies for the eyes. Cut black shoestring licorice into pieces and stick them into the cupcake for the whiskers. Then cut a peppermint patty or a similar soft, round candy into quarters. Use two of the quarters to make the ears by sticking them at the top of the cupcake with the points facing up. To see a photo of how these black cat cupcakes can look click here. These cat cupcakes also look great in pink or blue for baby showers or in pink and red for Valentine's Day cats.

Halloween Cupcake Design - Various Ghouls and Goblins: If you want to get creative, buy a variety of candy to use as decoration and make up frosting in lots of different colors. Then decorate away!
