Halloween Decor Then and Now

Major Jester
Many years ago
A single Jack O Lantern
Was the lone décor

Cut out scary face
With warm light from the candle
Tagged that house a friendly place

But today we see
Halloween trimmings galore
Displayed on every tree

Tombstones in the grass
Cobwebs, bats, witches and smoke
One night it will last

Offered fun and fright
Transformed to a haunted house
Owners take delight

Kids proclaim "That's neat!"
But as they approach the door
The goal: Still the treat!

Yes, we do tend to overdo a bit, don't we?
