Halloween Dessert Ideas Perfect for Halloween Parties

Dirty Diaper Cake, Kitty Litter Cake and Dirt Cakes to Gross Out Your Party Guests

Carly Hart
If you are planning a menu for your Halloween Party, be sure to include a disgusting (yet tasty) Halloween dessert to creep out your party guests. Halloween is a time for pranks and what could be more fun than watching guests to first turn up their noses at your dessert, only to dig in and enjoy? Here are a few ideas for disgustingly delicious Halloween dessert ideas that are perfect for Halloween parties.

Halloween dessert idea: Dirty Diaper cake

Using a normal Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines cake mix, prepare a cake using the two 9" round cake method. When the cakes are cool, prepare a box of chocolate pudding. Cut donut holes in both the top cake and bottom cakes before using frosting to secure the two cakes together on top of each other. Once the cakes are frosted together, pour in the prepared chocolate pudding into the cavity in the center of the cake. When finished, place a donut hole in the cavity, ensuring that the donut hole sits flush. Next carefully frost the cake in the pattern of a diaper, using white frosting for a diaper (see picture linked below). Tint white frosting with a drop of orange food coloring to make a peachy frosting for the belly and legs. Embellish with a piped on safety pin or safety pins (one on each hip). Your guests will take a piece unaware that it is a dirty diaper cake! For extra gross factor at your Halloween party, substitute the chocolate pudding filling with a nice green pistachio pudding mix or chocolate and pistachio combination to surprise your guests with an extra dirty diaper cake.

Disgust your Halloween party guests with a Cat/Kitty litter cake

Have you ever eaten Cat Litter cake? It is actually quite tasty, though disgusting to look at! Allrecipes.com has an impressive gallery of variations on the cat/kitty litter cake theme, including substituting Little Debbie brownies in for tootsie rolls to increase the yuck factor. Some enjoy upping the gross factor even more by actually purchasing a cat litter pan and scoop to display and serve their cat/kitty litter cake. Your guests are sure to enjoy the taste of this disgusting Halloween party treat if they can get past the thought of grazing out of a kitty litter box.

Dirt Cake is a hit with kids at a Halloween party

Kids love dirt and a good many of them love worms, making Dirt Cake a yummy and mildly disgusting treat to serve at a Halloween Party. At www.kids-party-paradise.com, there is a recipe for dirt cake, using a kids shovel and pail as a prop. Aside from assembling your Dirt Cake in a shovel and pail, consider using something more rustic like a clean flower pot (using a plastic flower piece to adorn the cake) or even an extra large Tonka Truck! There are lots of possibilities. Assembling the Dirt Cake in a large cookie sheet and adorning it with Matchbox Tonka trucks or bulldozers also makes a nice display and the kids will enjoy having a Halloween treat that they can actually play with before eating.
